Print formats with depth

There are campaigns that primarily need to be visible. And there are topics that need to be explained, contextualized, or developed. For the latter, it takes more than presence — it requires depth.

This is exactly where we bring our Brand Studio on board. Our team knows how to capture the essence of a brand, distill the right messages, and place them in the appropriate context. Whether as a compelling story, within a relevant thematic environment, or as a holistic concept in a brand-owned magazine — we create print content with depth.

Below, we address three common challenges faced by marketing decision-makers and brands, and outline the corresponding solutions offered by our Brand Studio.

How do I tell this clearly?

Some topics can’t be grasped at a glance. Anyone who wants to convey a standpoint or explain a complex offering quickly realizes: it takes space — and a story that provides context.

Branded Story

A branded story from the Brand Studio guides readers through a topic, creates relevance for the audience, and makes clear why it is worth engaging with.

At the center is not what a brand wants to say, but why it should matter to the audience. This is how content is created that doesn’t feel like advertising, but offers real added value — and in doing so, builds attention and trust.

Examples of Branded Stories in print

  • Korean wave in Zurich

    Client: Museum Rietberg

  • Action cinema in the Bernese Oberland

    Client: Schilthorn

The Schilthorn, filming location of the Bond movie «On Her Majesty’s Secret Service», can now be reached via a new cable car. In this Branded Story in a listicle format, we show why a trip there is the ultimate highlight — and deliver in SI 007 reasons why visiting the mountain is now more worthwhile than ever.

  • At home with Daniel Albrecht

    Client: BKW

The ski racer has built himself a «moon house» in Fiesch VS, made entirely from regional wood harvested during the waning moon. BKW contributed its expertise to the energy supply of this innovative project. With a Branded Story in Green Circle magazine, we took a look behind the scenes of this collaboration.

How do I become credible in this topic?

Not every message belongs everywhere. For many brands, the thematic environment is therefore a strategic decision: where does the topic fit? And where can the brand do more than simply be present?

Our answer:

Print Specials

Print specials start exactly here. They place your brand in curated thematic environments researched by our journalists — for example in business, mobility, travel, lifestyle, or luxury. A guest contribution or an ad in a special therefore does not mean: «We’re in as well.» But rather: «We have something to say on this topic.»

Examples of Print Specials

  • Client: Audemas Piquet

For over 30 years, BOLERO has stood for culture, design, fashion, travel, and beauty. The magazine celebrates the finer things in life and covers the most exciting personalities, developments, and influences at home and abroad with depth and intellectual ambition — the perfect thematic environment for our high-end clients.

Our client Audemars Piguet chose a high-impact advertisement in the fold-out Papillon format to mark the watch brand’s 155th anniversary.

  • Client: Helbling Business Advisors & Swiss Life

Handelszeitung publishes around 70 specials every year. One of them is the Business Innovation Special. Alongside editorial contributions from our journalists, it also features guest articles from industry specialists, which are sponsored — such as this contribution from Helbling Business Advisors.

At the same time, traditional half-page advertisements can also be integrated, as shown here with Swiss Life.

  • Client: Konnex

Another special edition of Handelszeitung is created in collaboration with the Baden economic region. In this example, Konnox shows in a guest contribution how they are bringing new energy to Baden’s working world.

How do we stay top of mind?

Not every communication task can be solved with a single contribution. Those who want to position a brand, build trust, or provide orientation need to be present over time — with content that is recognizable and carries the story forward.

Our answer:

Customer magazine

A customer magazine creates exactly this space: a dedicated editorial brand world tailored to the target audience, delivering impact beyond individual touchpoints. It does not start with the layout, but with the role a brand wants to take for its audience.

This results in high-quality content that not only informs but also makes brands tangible.

Stage your brand and your engagement across high-quality pages with editorial content, graphics, tips, and images — for an exclusive presentation.

Examples of customer magazines

  • Client: Jungfraubahnen

For Jungfraubahnen, the Ringier Advertising Brand Studio launched the exclusive magazine The View. Striking images and engaging features capture the fascination and beauty of the region, while portraits and insider tips for hikes, mountain excursions, and culinary experiences provide inspiration — in both summer and winter.

  • Client: Ochsner Sport

Ochsner Sport invites readers with its 80-page customer magazine to explore the Playground Switzerland. Where can you find the best bike trails? Which equipment is essential for a snowshoe tour? Spectacular sports and landscape photography complements the editorial features. In addition, there are tips and tricks from Ochsner Sport employees — as well as insider insights from Swiss sports stars such as Beat Feuz or Nicola Spirig.

    Branded Story Digital im Blick
  • Client: Coop

The Brand Studio launched the exclusive magazine Artisanal for Coop. The magazine explores Switzerland’s culinary craftsmanship and features people who passionately and skillfully produce their goods using traditional methods. From an innovative cheesemaker and a dedicated Coop apprentice to a creative ravioli producer — Artisanal offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look and tells the stories of the people behind Switzerland’s unique specialties.

«Campaigns rarely fail because they reach too few people. They fail because they trigger too little. Our starting point is never the format, but the question: what should this communication actually achieve?»
